Capt. Leendert Muller is managing director of Multraship Towage & Salvage. He has spent nearly 35 years working in the towage & salvage industry and is a certified Marine Master and acting senior Salvage Master. Leendert specialised in operational and commercial issues from 1994 until 1999, when he became Deputy Director of Multraship. He was appointed Managing Director of the Group in 2002.
In the course of his career, Leendert has been involved in numerous high-profile emergency response, salvage and wreck removal operations, including the Aya 2, Tricolor, Pelican 1, Fowairet, Rostok, Flinterstar, etc. He is a past-president of the International Salvage Union (ISU) and currently acts as a member of the ISU Executive Committee. Until June 2019 he also served the two-year term as Chairman of the European Tugowners Association (ETA). He also is member of the Board of the Royal Dutch Ship-owners Association (KVNR) as well as of the Dutch Transport Law Association (NVV).
